Dr. Terry Bush is a social psychologist whose recent research has focused on developing and evaluating new interventions for weight concerns and oral health hygiene in smokers. Her research is aimed at increasing the reach and effectiveness of quitlines, translating research into practice and promoting multiple health behavior changes in smokers.
Background
Dr. Bush has over 30 years of research experience developing and implementing interventions for depression, diabetes and tobacco dependence. She has contributed to numerous NIH and state-funded studies. She has published more than 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented her work at national and international conferences.
Education
Dr. Bush completed her BS degree in psychology at the University of Washington and her PhD in psychology at the University of Southampton in England. Prior to Optum, Dr. Bush was a researcher at the Group Health Research Institute (now Kaiser).
